Most people will have cracked their Note 7 by week 10. Here’s the top 5 cases to save you another $800

Yes, even with a case, most phones manage to get their screen cracked by week 10.

Some even don’t make it to week 6, according to an article from pcadvisor. But of course that’s for the larger smart phones.

The second most common way of rendering your nice new phone into an overpriced paper weight is by dropping it in water (35% of people do this).

We do have some good news though! Samsung has already taken care of that problem (for the most part). We all know that one of the neat features of the new Galaxy Note 7 is their IP68 waterproof rating. And that’s great if you’re walking in the rain or spill some water right on your phone.

But waterproofing doesn’t protect against a smack with the cement floor. Let’s face it, that happens all time, at least to me when I’m getting out of my car (43% of people break their phone this way).

My heart still drops even though I know I have a case that will be able to take that hit.note 7 cracked

However, now that the new Galaxy Note 7 is just a few days away for those that pre-ordered, there aren't any reviews for cases that will fit it.

But we can make some educated guess and what will get you the most bang for your buck, or rather prevents the most bangs on your new Note 7.

I’ve gone ahead and looked at the big phone case companies that already have a Galaxy Note 7 available that are listed to be able to take a beating and then compared their most popular series.

I’ve taken into account:
  • Form
  • Shock Resistance
  • Layers of protection
  • Cool aesthetics like a kickstand
  • And if it comes with any extra goodies

Now I know all of these can take a fall or two, but are they all equally durable and usable?

Of course not. Not all of them have a kick stand or come with the extra protection of a glass protector. Not having a kickstand isn't a deal breaker for me, but free glass is free glass.

You've seen for yourself the stats on all the phones and seen what they look like. It's time for you to make the decision for yourself.

If it were me, I’d go with The Zizo Bolt.

It’s drastically low in price right now because it’s on a website launch special, but won’t be for much longer.

So check out their cases now before they go back up in price: http://bit.ly/2bavjpc

When you've chipped an edge, and it's sharp

They’re liable to chip since they don’t sit flush with the sides of your phone.

It only takes a few bumps and drops before the corners start chipping. It’s not the screen protectors fault, they’re made of glass.

It’s just what glass does when it get bumped.

1.   Find Who’s Being a Greedy App

Some will keep being greedy even when they’re in the background. Not all apps only use battery while you’re using them.

Like my Podcasts app at the top of the list to the right.

It’s been sucking battery life all morning and I haven’t even had a chance to listen to the latest Criminal Podcast.

You have to shut these down if you don’t want them to be snagging up all your battery life.

To turn them off go to Settings > Battery to see all those greedy battery sucking apps.
